A new mini key fob Cooper is an unique car that has a classic design and superb handling. It's not without its problems.

cropped-KeyLab-1.pngThe most frequent issue is a key fob that's not working properly. This could lead to an expensive trip to the dealership, however you can fix it yourself.

Remote Mirror Control

One of the most useful features that a MINI Cooper key fob comes with is the ability to remotely control your vehicle's exterior features, including mirrors as well as the sunroof and roll-up windows. This is an excellent convenience for many drivers.

The remote mirror control works by allowing drivers to press the "lock" button on their key fob in order to fold their side-view mirrors. The driver can also press the button to unfold their side-view mirrors. It is possible that your car's switch has failed if you are experiencing issues with this function. A local ASE certified technician can check the switch to determine if the switch needs to be replaced.

Some drivers notice that their car's wing mirrors will adjust from top to bottom, but they won't adjust to the side. This could indicate that the mirror control switch might have developed a fault. This could be caused by a faulty master switch or a slave switch that is not working properly, or an issue with the electrical relay that sends out the signal to operate the mirrors.

Fortunately, this can be fixed by a simple and affordable fix from your local ASE certified mechanic. The solution is to replace the control switch for the mirror replaced. This will resolve the issue and let you enjoy the exterior features of your car without having to worry about someone stealing your car.

Remote Start

The standard MINI Cooper keyfob is equipped with a battery which charges when it is put into the ignition lock. It is recommended to check the battery's status at least once a year. If it is low it is time to replace the battery, according to this article.

Many cars are equipped with remote starters that allows you to start your car remotely. This is very useful in winter when you need to warm up your car prior to leaving for work, and it will also allow you to heat or cool down the interior.

You can use your key fob if you have a MINI Comfort Access to activate the ventilation. This is slightly different than remote start, but it is useful if you're running late to work in St Louis Park or %%traget_city in %%.

Remote start can be added to your mini keyless entry cooper key fob not working (from the Writeablog blog) by purchasing the help of Compustar. The kits use connectors from the factory, which eliminates unnecessary wire cuts and protects the integrity of your vehicle's internal wiring. This kit is available for select models and years of the MINI Cooper, and it includes a remote starter and two 2-way LED remote transmitters. For pricing and installation, contact your local Arctic Start retailer.

Acoustic Lock Confirmation

The BMW comfort access system has a feature that helps you to be sure that your car is secure even if you don't see it. This is called the audio lock confirmation. It's an uncomplicated sound that tells you that your car has been locked and the trunk closed. This is an excellent way to feel safe when you park your car in an area that is not well-known or when you leave your vehicle unattended for a prolonged period of time.

My wife's 2022 Cooper S 5 door would like an Acoustical lock/unlock confirm. Is it possible to program this? If yes, could you recommend a Piezo siren/buzzer to tap into?

Thanks!
