A Small Bedside Cot That Attaches to Your Adult Bed

A crib that is placed near your bed will allow you to keep your baby close to you at night, without needing to get out of bed. The breathable fabric lets you easily see your baby and they're easy to lower for those sleepy 3am feeds.

What is a bedside travel cot crib?

A twin bedside cot crib (also known as bassinet or co-sleeper) is a small baby crib that can be attached to your adult bed, allowing your newborn to sleep in a safe environment with you. It's a method of co-sleeping in a safe manner that does not increase the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) like bedsharing and can help you build a bond with your newborn.

They have a side which can be adjusted to allow you to reach your baby easily at night to soothe and feed them. This is particularly useful for mothers who are recovering from a c-section. Many are portable or foldable so you can use them to travel or as a temporary solution for newborns who aren't quite ready to transition to a larger crib.

In contrast to other cribs for bed which can be a nightmare to clean due to their incessant stream of snot and dribble, the Tutti Bambini CoZeeAir comes with a wipe-clean liner and fabric that can be removed to wash in the machine. It also has a top bar that can be easily lowered to accommodate nighttime feedings without the need to juggle zips.

Anna discovered the CoZee to be a safe and comfortable place to sleep for her infant. She liked that it didn't move like other models so she wasn't disturbed at night while trying to soothe her baby during feedings. She also liked the fact that the side could be lowered so she didn't have to reach out over her partner to lift the baby for night time feeds.

The CoZee is available in oak or charcoal and is a chic option for any bedroom. It's more an elegant piece of furniture than some of the other cribs that we've tested, and can look quite utilitarian in comparison. It's also fairly light at 11kg and comes with a carry bag so you can take it with you on holiday or if you're moving house. The only things you'll have to purchase are a waterproof sheet and a co-sleeping safety strap. The instructions and illustrations are simple to follow when you first open the box.

The Maxi-Cosi Lora

The Iora is a bassinet designed for infants designed to make parents feel closer to their baby while they sleep. It can be adjusted both up and down and moved to three different positions for sliding to fit beside the parent's bed or in the corner so that the baby is always at hand. The breathable mesh siding allows air to flow through, and allows you to glance at your baby. And you can store more pajamas and other supplies in the large storage basket underneath.

The Iora is a bedside crib that is smaller and can fold flat. It also comes with a travel case which allows it to be taken anywhere. Our mom testers found it easy to move from room to room and felt that it was a suitable size for a small best bedside cot cot that was not too big or too small. They also appreciated the large storage basket that is ideal for storing nappies or bedding.

This is a great choice for parents who are looking to co-sleep, but don't want to share their beds or whose partner may have mobility issues, like arthritis or back issues. Our mom testers were thrilled to be able to easily access their baby while in the Iora and that it had an optional reflux incline that helped reduce gas.

Our moms also love the fact that it complies with NICE guidelines, which are to place the baby in the crib or Moses basket on its own (with no blankets, toys pillows, etc.). The mattress is also sturdy and comfortable for the baby and sheets are readily available. It's not as light as other cribs that are smaller on our list, so if you prefer something lighter and easier for you to move, you can choose another alternative.
